Which regions experience the highest extreme heat exposure combined with excessive working hours? Which population groups face the most severe decent-work deficits? Which crops carry the highest agrochemical risk?

The dashboard lets you combine climate hazards and decent work indicators to answer your own questions.

Our assessment adapts the IPCC climate risk framework — hazards × exposure × vulnerability — to examine climate risks through a decent work lens. Decent work is treated as a multi-dimensional concept comprising ten core elements linked to the five strategic pillars of the ILO’s decent work agenda.

Climate hazards covered

The assessment covers five climate hazards with documented links to occupational health and decent work outcomes: extreme heat, flooding, drought, wildfires, and agrochemical exposure. Each hazard is scored at the municipality level for Brazil, then crossed with worker exposure and sectoral vulnerability data.

Decent work dimensions

Ten decent work elements are included, organised around the ILO’s five strategic pillars: employment opportunities, rights at work, social protection, social dialogue, and conditions of work. Measurable indicators include wages, job security, working hours, occupational safety, and access to formal employment contracts.
